Can I built the kit
myself?
1. What does the kit include?
One story kits include; pressure treated sill plate,
hemlock sill cover, posts, plate beams, knee braces, 4x4 siding nailers, tie
beams, ridge pole or structural beam, collar ties, rafters, 2x8 tongue and
groove pine sheathing, 1x8 ship lap pine siding, mortise and tenon joinery
with hardwood pegs, timber fasteners, (6) fixed barn sash windows, (1) 40x80
pass door and engineered plans
Two story kits include everything from a one
story kit, plus heavy duty stair kit, loft joists and 2x8 tongue and groove
pine decking.

2. Do you offer custom barns?
Any of our kits can be customized. We offer a number of
different options for each of our kits, including different style and size
windows, doors, cupolas, etc. We can also custom design a barn or home from
the ground up. There are additional design fees for this service, but we
will be more than happy to discuss this option with you.

3. What kind of foundation do I need?
We recommend a footing and frost wall for your
foundation, we believe this is the best way to proceed. Kits can also be
built on concrete piers or sono tubes. Small barns and sheds can be built on
crushed gravel and concrete blocks. In all cases local building codes must
be followed and all foundations must be below the frost line.

4. Where do you deliver?
We deliver across the United States and Canada. The
kits are banded and arrive on tractor trailers.

5. What is the advantage to a kit?
The kits are designed and engineered to your
specifications. They are cut in a controlled environment to exact standards
with limited wasted timber. Installation time is cut do to the pre-cut
timbers.

6. Does your kit meet my local building codes?
All of our kits are designed to meet or exceed your
local building criteria. Every plan is reviewed and stamped by a State
licensed engineer.

7. Do I need a building permit?
In most cases, yes. Every region has their own
requirements, it is best to check with your local building officials before
you start.

8. Can you recommend a builder for our project?
We have a large number of builders throughout the
country that have built our kits, so we may have a local contact for you. We
are always adding to the list of builders we use. We can also provide a
frame specialist to help with your kit installation. The supervisor is
typically on site for 3-5 days, depending on the kit.

9.Can I built the kit myself?
The smaller barns and sheds can be a do-it-yourself
project, but we recommend the use of a qualified builder or carpenter erect
the larger kits. It is necessary to have a construction or variable reach
forklift for installation and unloading the kit at the time of delivery.
